It’s perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. The smoke are usually the hot air and steam are the natural byproduct of the drying process that escapes through the vents when you use the machine. It’s also a good sign because it means that your appliance and its vents are in good shape and working properly.
If the time comes that you smell something burning from your dryer, be cautious due to it being a fire hazard. First, try removing any built up lint from the lint trap or catcher, clean the insides of the dryer, and don’t forget the hose duct and vents. If the smell persists, call an HVAC specialist immediately and let them check all the electrical components of your dryer and have them replaced.
One of most common reason why your dryer is blowing cold air instead hot is due to overheating. If your dryer doesn’t have a reset button on it, it’s likely you will need to call an HVAC specialist to replace the thermostat and thermal cut-out immediately.
